Personal Style
Style and Moses have never been formally introduced. His clothes are a matter of functionality—he'll spend money on them because he wants quality and durability, not because they suit anyone's idea of fashion. Out of the same impulse, he keeps them as clean as possible and in good repair. He needs them to last. Wasting hard-earned money on something cheap would be a moral failing. Unsurprisingly, he's usually dressed as if work is an inevitability, even during his off hours. Dark trousers, a muslin shirt, and leather boots are his normal attire. The fabric only changes according to the weather.Long hours working under the sun have tanned his skin and bleached the highlights of his hair blond. Most of the time, he could probably use a trim and a good shave.
Inducing him to clean up is a bit of a struggle, but the result is probably worthwhile.

Personality
Moses has never been a man of many words. Plenty of ideas, yes, and strong emotions, too, but he prefers to keep his interior landscape entirely to himself. He would blame his laconicism on learning English relatively late. In fact, he's been doing so for well over a decade, despite a reputation for brusqueness back in his home country. The language barrier makes for a convenient excuse, but the truth is that expressing himself aloud has always felt like cutting open his chest and pulling out his ribs, one by one. It's nothing that he wants to share with strangers. In comparison, action is easy, and he'll offer a mountain of deeds over a handful of words to prove whatever is in his heart.He's just as restrained in temperament, being both deliberate in passion and slow to anger. He needs to think things through, because once he gets out of his own head and comes to a resolution, he's solid as a rock. Next to nothing will sway his devotion—or deter his wrath. Fortunately, he dislikes violence and generally considers it to be a last resort, only forgivable when he's acting in defense or forced into a corner. Unprovoked, he won't start a fight, but he'll definitely finish one.

Powers Use
For the first five years or so of Moses' life, his mother would have sworn that his Elemental magic manifested as fire. She suffered night sweats and peculiar fevers for all nine months of her pregnancy, and within a few weeks of his birth, her infant son had set the bedsheets alight. Increasing coordination and better control finally cleared up the matter—his power centered not on fire, but on heat, and the flames were simply the most frequent symptom. Moses would certainly never need a match, but more useful was his realization that enough heat could work iron and bend metal. He put the knowledge to good use, apprenticing to a blacksmith as a youth and earning enough to care for his mother after his father's death. Eventually, the same skill gave him an advantage in a much more modern application. Repairing track will never be easy work. The ability to manipulate the metal of the track, however, eases the strain of hammering in all those spikes.As a secondary side effect, he positively radiates body heat. Not exactly desirable during the desert summer, but very charming during cold weather.
